The scene recalls the Home Front in 1940, when the enemy came by air and the nation learned that neglect is often more ruinous than assault. Here the foe is the sea, patient, impartial, and relentless. It does not bomb. It simply waits.

Pray, where is the great plan? A country cannot drift into the tide with a shrug and then act astonished when the water arrives. Roads, rails, homes, livelihoods, all swallowed because foresight was found wanting and delay was made into policy. That is not statecraft. It is surrender in slow motion.

One needs courage, engineering, and honest priorities. Not rhetoric. Not committee fog. Action.
